What is coeliac disease?
Coeliac disease is an autoimmune condition in which gluten triggers an immune reaction that damages the small intestine. The only known treatment is a strict, lifelong gluten-free diet. Always consult your doctor for diagnosis and follow-up.
Is the Glutensiz Tatil Approval Certificate an official certificate?
No. It is not a legal certificate issued by a public authority but an independent verification programme. We audit hotels on site against a public standard and publish the result with a numbered, verifiable certificate.
Is there no risk at all in a certified hotel?
No kitchen can guarantee zero risk. The certificate shows that, on the date of the audit, the hotel had systems in place to prevent cross-contamination and was following them. Always restate your needs when booking and on arrival.
Which level should I choose?
If you have coeliac disease, we recommend at least the Gluten-Free Safe level. If you are highly sensitive or your child is coeliac, Coeliac Expert is the safest option. Gluten-Free Friendly suits guests who are sensitive to gluten but not coeliac.
Does a hotel not being listed mean it's unsafe?
No, it simply means we haven't audited it yet. If you'd like a hotel to be audited, you can suggest it via the contact page.
What should I do if I have a reaction at a hotel?
Look after your health first and get medical help if needed. Then report the incident to the hotel management in writing and let us know via the Report your experience form. For certified hotels, this report triggers an additional review.
What is the travel card?
A free, printable card that explains coeliac disease and cross-contamination rules in Turkish, English, German and Russian. Just show it to the waiter or chef at the restaurant.

Is there a fee to apply?
The application and initial pre-assessment meeting are free. The fee is invoiced when the on-site audit is scheduled.
How long does an audit take?
Between half a day and a full day, depending on the size of the hotel. Part of the breakfast or dinner service is always observed on site.
How long is a certificate valid?
One year, with at least one unannounced check during that time. For renewal, a renewal audit is scheduled before the certificate expires.
Is the fee refunded if we fail the audit?
The audit fee does not depend on the outcome. However, if you close the gaps in mandatory criteria within 30 days, you can obtain the certificate with a free follow-up visit.
Where can we use the badge and logo?
While the certificate is valid, you can use them on your website, booking pages, menus and around the property. The badge is linked to your certificate number and points to the verification page.
We have several hotels. Can we apply for them together?
Yes. We offer a group audit plan and volume discount for chains and hotel groups. Get in touch via the contact page.
